Vanguard Homes was established in 2006 as the outgrowth of a successful North Carolina-based homebuilding company in operation since 1980. With unwavering determination, we remain committed to being an area leader in homebuilding quality, service, and innovation validated by measurable differences in community development, product design, and home efficiency.

Product Design

Vanguard builds innovative homes designed to fit today's modern lifestyles. Our experienced design and marketing teams remain close to market trends and buyer behaviors to ensure our floorplan offerings showcase the highest levels of livability and luxury. In addition, our educated Design Studio staff is always ready to offer professional assistance in selecting the best designer options to fit your lifestyle and enhance your home’s value.

Home Efficiency

A Vanguard home prevents greenhouse gas emissions by meeting strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and must go through multiple 3rd party inspections to ensure it meets the highest government standards. Vanguard Homes and our partner building company have been recognized 2 years in a row as ENERGY STAR Partners of the Year. The true value of an ENERGY STAR qualified new home is in the construction details, but the advantages are obvious - beyond lower utility bills and improved indoor air quality, owning an ENERGY STAR home makes you part of the big picture - preserving the environment and creating a better future for generations to come.

We bridge the gap between ENERGY STAR® and extreme green technologies by delivering “Sensibly Green” homes that are both affordable and approachable for the modern homebuyer. We believe that a home’s true value is not measured in dollars and cents, but in the results delivered – reduced environmental footprint and improved quality of life.

For us, green building is a conscious choice to use our resources efficiently while creating a higher performing home that is better for the homeowner and the natural environment. This practice provides cost savings through improved productivity, lower cost building operations, and resource efficiency—while moving us closer to a sustainable future. And by all measures, we are doing just that – meeting the needs of the present without compromising the needs of the future - right here in the Carolinas.

In 2007 Vanguard Homes (along with our sister company, Anderson Homes) built a total of 350 ENERGY STAR Qualified Homes. In addition to providing our customers with comfortable and attractive homes, our efforts were equivalent to:

» Eliminating the emissions from 245 vehicles
» Saving 134,400 pounds of coal
» Planting 35 acres of trees
» Saving homeowners $156,450 on their utility bills

Community Development

With a strong focus on environmental stewardship, Vanguard’s communities exist in carefully selected locations designed to maximize homesite integrity, while minimizing environmental impact. Our properties are carefully evaluated for opportunities to preserve and/or restore vegetation, and all landscaping is climate appropriate to minimize energy and water consumption.
