Built Green to Save Green
Progress Energy supports energy conservation by offering a 5% discount to Vanguard Sensibly Green owners on homes that receive "Energy Star" certification. This 5% discount, in addition to the home being at least 30% more energy efficient, is why Vanguard Homes is ENERGY STAR’s “Partner of the Year” for 2006 and 2007!
While many builders have been hesitant to adopt ENERGY STAR® and green building techniques, Vanguard Homes has embraced the future. Our energy-efficient homes minimize environmental impact while maximizing health and home comfort. Although Vanguard’s ENERGY STAR® qualified homes will appreciate beyond the standard home, the true value of our innovative homes is not measured in dollars and cents, but in the results delivered - reduced environmental footprint and improved quality of life.
Better energy decisions contribute to a better environment. Through ENERGY STAR®, thousands of organizations are taking the opportunity to invest in energy efficiency, save money, and help protect the environment.

WaterSense® is a partnership program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is the symbol for water-efficient products, services and practices. Vanguard Homes is proud to have been chosen as one of only five builders in the country to participate in the EPA WaterSense® pilot program and the only builder in the Southeast. Vanguard’s WaterSense® homes will be built to reduce water consumption by setting criteria for both indoor and outdoor water use. They will achieve this water efficiency through several technology options and will be independently certified. As a WaterSense® builder, a Vanguard home will be about 20 percent more water efficient than an average home.
