Progress Energy supports energy conservation by offering a 5% discount to Vanguard Sensibly Green owners on homes that receive "Energy Star" certification. This 5% discount, in addition to the home being at least 30% more energy efficient, is why Vanguard Homes is ENERGY STAR’s “Partner of the Year” for 2006 and 2007!

Water Sense WaterSense® is a partnership program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is the symbol for water-efficient products, services and practices. Vanguard Homes is proud to have been chosen as one of 7 builders in the United States invited to be part of the WaterSense Pilot Program and the FIRST Builder to Build a WaterSense Home. Vanguard’s WaterSense homes will be built to reduce water consumption by setting criteria for both indoor and outdoor water use, and will be independent third party certified. As a WaterSense® builder, a Vanguard home will be about 20 percent more water efficient than an average home.
